FWI

Records Manager II

Location US-DC-Washington
ID 2026-2498

Overview

Do you see a room full of unlabeled boxes and feel the urge to roll up your sleeves? Can you spot the right records schedule faster than most people can find their car keys? Do you believe that good records management protects an agency's history, its people, and its privacy?

If so, we might be your people.

FWI is supporting the Federal Transit Administration's (FTA) Office of Administration as the agency settles into its new home in the U.S. Department of Transportation Headquarters West Building. The move uncovered a large volume of government records, and every one of them needs to be identified, evaluated, and handled the right way. We need a sharp, methodical Records Manager to make that happen. This isn't a "shred it and forget it" kind of role. You'll inventory accumulated files, apply records schedules, appraise what needs to be kept, carry out secure destruction of temporary records, and prepare permanent records for transfer to the National Archives. The work has real compliance stakes, a clear finish line, and a team that values doing it right.

FWI is expanding rapidly and has been recognized as a 2024, 2025 and 2026 Top Workplace, offering excellent growth opportunities in a collaborative environment.
