Overview

Join our team as a Senior Stakeholder Engagement & Communications Specialist and support the USDA Rural Development BioPreferred Program by building relationships with government, industry, and community stakeholders. You will identify and engage key partners, communicate program priorities clearly, and foster lasting relationships, ensuring continued growth and visibility for USDA's nationally recognized biobased-products program.

**Position is contingent upon contract award**

 

 

Work Schedule and Location:

Remote: This full-time remote position will work Monday through Friday with occasional travel as required.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across government, industry, and advocacy communities
  • Identify stakeholders and analyze their influence and interests to shape outreach strategy
  • Represent the program at industry events, conferences, and public forums
  • Support media outreach and public-engagement activities highlighting program initiatives
  • Serve as liaison with the USDA Office of External Affairs and RD's State Public Information Officers
  • Contribute to newsletters, case studies, and other stakeholder-facing communications
  • Support recruitment of new program participants and ongoing outreach to existing participants
  • Participate in recurring project status and planning meetings with program leadership

 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Approximately 7 years of professional experience managing, engaging, and building relationships with individuals or groups in a stakeholder-facing role
  • Demonstrated ability to identify stakeholders, analyze influence/interest, communicate clearly, and build lasting relationships
  • Ability to pass a federal (USDA) background investigation and obtain a government-issued PIV credential

Desired: 

  • Prior experience in agricultural, biobased-industry, or federal public-affairs/communications work
