Overview

Join our team as an Auditor and support the Air Force Criminal Justice Information Center (AFCJIC) by conducting comprehensive records audits of CJIS systems and Major Command entries for compliance with applicable laws, policy, and FBI CJIS Security Policy. You will perform monthly and annual validations and user audits, support inspections and staff assistance visits, assist the DAF CJIS Systems Officer with virtual and on-site terminal audits, and remediate legacy records across III, NICS, and NCIC, ensuring criminal history data remains accurate, defensible, and audit-ready.

Work Schedule and Location:

On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm in Quantico, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive records audits of Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) systems use, including monthly and annual validations and user audits.
  • Audit AFCJIC Major Command (MAJCOM) team records and entries for compliance with established processes.
  • Engage with inspection entities (e.g., OSI/IG, AFSFC, MAJCOM/IG) to support Unit Effectiveness Inspections (UEI) and Staff Assistance Visits (SAV) for indexing compliance.
  • Generate analytical reports on audit compliance results in coordination with the Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) Data Manager.
  • Coordinate with AFCJIC MAJCOM teams to identify and mitigate real-time compliance risks.
  • Assist the DAF CJIS Systems Officer (CSO) with virtual and on-site terminal audits for FBI CJIS Security Policy compliance.
  • Execute legacy record remediation projects to reconcile duplicative, incomplete, or unsupported records in III, NICS, and NCIC.

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Minimum 5 years' experience conducting audits.
  • Sufficient knowledge and experience in law enforcement, legal, or compliance fields to accurately interpret criteria and properly handle sensitive information.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
