Overview

FWI is building a team to deliver STEM outreach support services for the Air Force Research Laboratory's (AFRL) Next-Gen Outreach Office at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. As the STEM Outreach Project Control Specialist, you will be the operational backbone of the Next-Gen Outreach Office — managing the SEMEDS after-school program, Job Shadow Days, Science Fair judging coordination, Classroom Speakers project, and web/social media presence, all while ensuring the office runs efficiently and communicates its mission effectively.

**Position is contingent upon contract award**

 

Work Schedule and Location:

On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm at Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the SEMEDS program: a twice-monthly after-school program bringing high school and middle school students on-base to use Scanning Electron Microscopes
  • Coordinate WPAFB semi-annual Job Shadow Days for high school juniors and seniors
  • Act as organizational 'webmaster' — creating and maintaining web-based resources and STEM Outreach social media accounts
  • Manage the Classroom Speakers project by soliciting, scheduling, and coordinating expert STEM volunteers
  • Coordinate Science Fair judging volunteers across Miami Valley schools; procure medals and ribbons
  • Assist the FLL co-lead with overall program administration
  • Compile quarterly reports and provide information for STEM Outreach Coordinator and staff
  • Develop and maintain tracking tools to improve efficiency and program effectiveness
  • Produce STEM Outreach monthly newsletter and other media content

 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience, at least 5 years of STEM outreach experience, and at least 2 years of website management experience; OR
  • Bachelor's degree in a science field with minimum 5 years of project management experience, at least 1 year of STEM outreach experience, and at least 2 years of website management experience
