Overview

FWI is building a team to deliver STEM outreach support services for the Air Force Research Laboratory's (AFRL) Next-Gen Outreach Office at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. As the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Project Manager, you will serve as Ohio's Lead Partner for the FTC program — a competitive robotics initiative for students in grades 7–12 — overseeing all Ohio operations from qualifying tournaments through the State Championship.

**Position is contingent upon contract award**

 

Work Schedule and Location:

On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm at Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Lead Ohio Partner, maintaining direct relationship with FIRST representatives
  • Coordinate and manage administration of all Ohio FTC activities
  • Provide logistical and program support for the annual Ohio State Championship Tournament (~1.5 days)
  • Support all Ohio FTC teams (grades 7–12) and qualifying tournaments statewide
  • Develop and execute annual Ohio FTC program execution plan; provide training for partners
  • Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers for locally run events and State Championship
  • Provide and maintain tournament trailers; arrange transport to State Tournament
  • Procure trophies, medals, and sponsor plaques for qualifying and championship events
  • Lead summer robotics camp, tournament training, and Ohio State Championship
  • Update and maintain FTC website and social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
  • Coordinate and maintain website database of workshops for teams

 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a science field OR minimum 2 years of functional area experience
  • Direct experience organizing and executing a FIRST Tech Challenge state tournament strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience with social media platforms
  • Strong customer service and event organization skills
