Overview

FWI is building a team to support the US Census Bureau's 2030 Decennial Census lifecycle by establishing, maintaining, and managing an Integrated Master Schedule across 100+ projects spanning multiple years. As a Primavera P6 Systems Administrator, you will serve as the subject matter expert for the administration, maintenance, testing, and upgrading of the Oracle Primavera and Microsoft Project Server scheduling systems that power the Decennial program.

Work Schedule and Location:

Onsite: This full-time position will work Monday through Friday during core hours of 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM EST at USCB Headquarters in Suitland, MD. Some hybrid work may be authorized.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the go-to subject matter expert for Oracle Primavera P6, Primavera Analytics, P6 Data Warehouse, Team Member, and Microsoft Project Server
  • Administer and maintain scheduling systems across client, web, and VDI environments — keeping tools running at peak performance for all users
  • Manage user access, security profiles, and the Organizational Breakdown Structure across P6 and MSPS
  • Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and hot fixes in coordination with USCB IT and security teams
  • Develop and execute test plans and scripts for system upgrades, ensuring all changes are thoroughly validated before deployment
  • Support security audits and provide monthly user access reports in compliance with Census IT guidelines
  • Migrate schedule data across environments including test, training, and production instances
  • Create and maintain clear, user-friendly documentation, user guides, and training materials in SharePoint
  • Act as a bridge between the Scheduling Branch and USCB IT teams — translating complex technical concepts into plain language for non-technical audiences
  • Support knowledge transfer by documenting completed work, upgrades, and system changes for continuity

 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Demonstrated experience with program management of IT projects for the Federal Government
  • Proficient in technical expertise and maintenance of Primavera Pro, P6 Web, Primavera Analytics, P6 Database, Team Member, Microsoft Project Server, and Power BI
  • Experience working with Government IT and security guidelines
  • Experience standing up cloud-based P6 environments and migrating on-premises solutions to the cloud (preferred per RFP)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical terminology in plain language
