Overview

FWI is building a team to support the U.S. Department of Labor in advancing AI skills development through Registered Apprenticeship programs by expanding AI literacy across all industries, growing RA programs in AI-centric occupations, and strengthening the workforce pipeline for AI infrastructure. As the Project Manager, you will drive the day-to-day execution of all project activities — managing deliverables, coordinating across stakeholders, and keeping this complex national program on schedule and on budget.

Work Schedule and Location:

Remote: This part-time remote position will work approximately 32 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Run day-to-day operations: staffing, schedules, financials, and deliverable tracking across all task areas
  • Build and maintain monthly work plans with task descriptions, due dates, budgets, and responsible parties
  • Write, edit, and quality-check reports, publications, fact sheets, and other deliverables before they go to OA
  • Prepare and submit status reports — ad-hoc, monthly, quarterly, and annual
  • Manage data entry into Salesforce, tracking outreach activities, employer engagement, events, and apprentice outcomes
  • Coordinate logistics for national convenings, accelerator events, and stakeholder meetings (virtual and in-person)
  • Serve as the day-to-day liaison with OA staff, SAAs, intermediaries, and industry partners

 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Bachelor's + 8 years of relevant experience, or 10+ years without a degree
  • Working knowledge of the Registered Apprenticeship system — program standards, work process schedules, RTI outlines, and the registration process
  • Strong writing and editing skills with experience producing polished federal deliverables
  • Experience managing federal workforce development projects with multiple concurrent workstreams
  • Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM systems for tracking program data
  • Experience planning and executing national-scale meetings and events
  • Ability to manage relationships across employers, industry groups, education partners, and government agencies simultaneously

Desired: 

  • Prior experience on a DOL OA intermediary contract or ETA-funded initiative is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with 508 compliance and the AOR/RAPIDS systems is preferred
