Overview

FWI is building a team to sustain daily operations at the National Museum of Health and Medicine through specialized professional and administrative services. As a Logistics Support Specialist, you will support facility management, logistics, and administrative functions including property accountability, warehouse management, building maintenance coordination, and event setup across the museum's two buildings.

**Position is contingent upon contract award**

 

Work Schedule and Location:On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm at the National Museum of Health & Medicine in Silver Spring, MD

Responsibilities

  • Supports logistics, facility services, safety, physical security, and administrative functions across two museum buildings
  • Performs property accountability, warehouse inventory, and excess management activities
  • Conducts daily facility inspections for cleanliness, lighting, temperature, maintenance, safety, and security issues
  • Coordinates building maintenance requests and monitors contractor work activities
  • Supports event setup and teardown for indoor and outdoor museum events
  • Opens and closes buildings and performs security surveillance rounds as directed

 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Supply Chain Management, or similar advanced studies is desired
  • 4 years' experience performing logistics, facility management, and administrative functions consisting of, but not limited to, acquisition, inventory, property accountability, and warehouse management
  • Prepares operating procedures to develop, administer, monitor, and coordinate a wide variety of logistics and maintenance actions
  • Strong knowledge of acquisition management, property accountability, receiving, warehouse management, and the electrical and/or mechanical trades, safety, security, and standard customer service practices
  • Experience applying a comprehensive range of facility operations, principles, concepts, and practices with complicated technical requirements
  • Experience evaluating customer requests for facility repair, maintenance, safety, and security
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and strong customer service skills
  • Knowledge and expert proficiency using Microsoft Office 365 products including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Publisher, Access
  • Proven experience using the Defense Medical Logistics Standard System (DMLSS) to input, manipulate, and retrieve data and information relative to logistics and facility management activities
