Overview

Join a team dedicated to empowering youth nationwide by leading two of the Department of Defense’s most impactful educational programs. FWI has won a contract to provide comprehensive training, assistance, and assessment support services for the National Guard Youth Challenge Program and DoD STARBASE Program to improve enrollment, retention, and educational outcomes. As Program Manager, you will oversee training, assistance, and assessment support services for both programs. You will lead strategic planning, quality control, and program evaluation while serving as the primary point of contact between our organization and government stakeholders.

Work Schedule and Location:

Remote: This full-time remote position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm.  Travel will be required for site visits, workshops and in-person training.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing operational site visits to established STARBASE sites, as determined by OASD/MRA(RI) Director Civil Military Programs no less than once every 3 years.
  • Visits shall consist of, but not limited to, reviewing the sites operations and curriculum delivery for compliance with DoD instructions and key program factors. 
  • A minimum of thirty (30) site visits will be accomplished per year. Develop/Update a national program self-assessment tool.
  • Review self- assessment tool with the program director.
  • Prepare a site visit report that includes assessment and recommended action plans with timelines for correcting deficiencies.
  • Responsible for collaborating with the STARBASE Curriculum Advisory Group to design and develop curriculum content, training materials, and teaching aids.
  • Collaborate with DoD STARBASE Program Directors to identify training needs and adapt curriculum to meet specific requirements and standards.
  • Incorporate experiential learning into instruction to create engaging learning activities and compelling lesson content.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the existing curriculum through feedback mechanisms and assessment results, recommending improvements or updates as necessary. Integrate technology into curriculum development, including e-learning (STARBASE U), to facilitate accessible and innovative learning experiences.
  • Align curriculum with educational standards and regulations at the local, state, and national levels to ensure compliance and relevance.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to travel to STARBASE sites nationwide.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with government contracting preferred.
  • Experience with curriculum development required.
  • Attention to Detail required.
