Strategic Planner (Part Time)

Overview

FWI is building a team to support Puerto Rico Department of Housing (PRDOH) Communication Services program for the Community Development Block Grant for Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) and Community Development Block Grant for Mitigation (CDBG-MIT). The Strategic Planner will conduct research, monitor cultural and social trends, and provide clearly defined creative briefs that translate strategic direction into effective campaigns aligned with brand and communication objectives.

Work Schedule and Location:


Hybrid: This part-time hybrid position will work Monday through Friday, 20 hours per week, with some onsite work in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Responsibilities

  • Develop creative strategic plans for campaigns based on research-backed insights to inform brand and communication strategies
  • Conduct proper briefing for creative teams with clearly defined briefs containing concise information on product, audience, and strategy
  • Commission and conduct research using both qualitative methods (focus group discussions, structured interviews) and quantitative methods (demographic profiling, questionnaires, surveys)
  • Provide elaborated strategies and planning implementation when pitching campaigns or proposals internally and to the client
  • Monitor, track, report, and provide feedback on online reviews, communications, trends, messages, and social conversations across all social media platforms
  • Set, plan, and implement social media communication campaigns and strategies to improve client communications and community engagement
  • Respond to all received messages and interact daily with the community through all social media accounts of the client
  • Organize and manage events to boost brand awareness and foster community relationships
  • Liaise with the client communications team to ensure consumer attitudes, needs, and community feedback are considered at the beginning of campaigns
  • Monitor cultural and social trends through social listening and their impact on consumers' attitudes, behavior, and perceptions
  • Provide input during creative development to ensure strategic direction is correctly translated into creative work and resonates with community
  • Ensure all posted content is correct and current with client brand, policies, and guidelines
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other departments in the development of social media strategies that encourage responses building friendly relationships with stakeholders, citizens, professionals, and journalists
  • Provide recommendations to the client on identified opportunities to expose the brand based on community insights and engagement data
  • Responsible for day-to-day management of all research relating to the brand, advertising, and community sentiment
  • Stay up to date with digital technology trends, platform changes, and emerging social media best practices

 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business Management or Administration, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience in strategic planning and/or community management
  • Track record developing and implementing creative initiatives and campaigns with measurable community engagement
  • Hands-on experience in planning at every stage of brand and communication strategy
  • Extensive experience planning and leading community activities with ability to identify and track relevant community key performance indicators
  • Keen interest and experience in analyzing marketing problems, brand tracking research, and spotting opportunities to develop the brand through consumer insights and social listening
  • Hands-on experience with social media management platforms and ability to interpret website traffic and social media analytics
  • Strong understanding of SEO, keyword research, information architecture, and usability best practices
  • Experience with content management systems and social media scheduling tools
  • Ability to conduct qualitative research (focus groups, interviews) and quantitative research (demographic profiling, questionnaires)
  • Monitor cultural and social trends and their impact on consumers' attitudes, behavior, and perceptions
  • Attention to detail, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and strategic mindset
  • Work alongside account management and creative teams to develop highly creative campaigns
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills in both Spanish and English (bilingual required)
