Overview

FWI is building a team to provide comprehensive retail sales and inventory management services for the Department of the Treasury, Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) Western Currency Facility in Fort Worth, Texas, supporting critical public sales operations that distribute authentic U.S. Treasury products and currency-related merchandise. As Lead Retail Associate/Specialist, you will serve as the retail operations manager overseeing point-of-sale transactions, inventory control for both taxable and nontaxable government products, daily bank deposits, vault security, and merchandising displays while ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with BEP security protocols and dual-control policies.

Work Schedule and Location:On-Site: This full time position will work Tuesday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (32 hours/week) at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing Western Currency Facility, 9100 Blue Mound Road, Fort Worth, TX 76131.  May require extended early or late hours for special BEP events (holiday events once per year, other activities 3-4 times per year). Closed on federal holidays. 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily retail sales shop operations ensuring adequate staffing per BEP Dual Control policy (minimum two salespeople at all times)
  • Manage inventory stock levels, product receipts, returns, pricing, display and maintenance
  • Ensure all Department of the Treasury products are adequately stocked and attractively merchandised
  • Conduct daily and monthly product inventories during normal TVC hours
  • Operate point-of-sale cash register equipment, product scanners, credit/debit card equipment, check conversion equipment
  • Prepare and place bar-coded labels on applicable sales products
  • Keep customer lines to a minimum in accordance with Quality Control Plan

 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • At least one (1) year of verifiable customer service experience with responsibilities in a visitor center, public tour service, and/or retail sales operation
  • At least one (1) year of verifiable computer experience, to include Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand fluent English
  • Ability to pass High Risk background check conducted by BEP Personnel Security Branch
  • U.S. citizen 

Desired:

  • Experience with point-of-sale systems and cash handling
  • Inventory management experience
  • Knowledge of retail merchandising
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish

Uniform Requirements:

Government-approved uniforms will be provided and must be worn during all duty hours:

  • Black, brown, gray or blue short or long sleeve button-down shirt
  • Pants or skirt in black or khaki (skirts must sit no more than 2 inches above the knee)
  • Contractor's logo may appear (no more than 3" x 3")
  • Brown or black socks
  • Brown or black loafers, flats or dress shoes
