Overview

FWI is building a team to provide comprehensive tour and visitor center management services for the Department of the Treasury, Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) Western Currency Facility in Fort Worth, Texas, supporting critical public education and retail operations that showcase U.S. currency manufacturing. As the General/Operations Manager, you will serve as the operational leader with full authority over all contract matters, managing tour operations, retail sales, transportation services, exhibits and displays, and theater operations while overseeing all personnel, equipment, and facilities necessary to present the BEP as a world-class securities printer to thousands of annual visitors.

Work Schedule and Location: On-Site: This full-time position will work Tuesday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (32 hours/week) at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing Western Currency Facility, 9100 Blue Mound Road, Fort Worth, TX 76131.

Responsibilities

  • Exercise overall management responsibility for the contract effort
  • Oversee daily inspection and maintenance of visitor transportation (shuttles/trams)
  • Manage tour and retail sales operations, transportation services and safety procedures
  • Supervise operational duties with the information desk, two floors of exhibits and displays, theater and film operations
  • Coordinate matters of mutual concern with BEP representatives
  • Handle problems arising under the contract, such as dismissals and disciplinary matters
  • Receive technical direction and resolve questions of responsibility
  • Provide a designated lead to act in their absence

 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • At least two (2) years of verifiable experience in managing a visitor center, public tour service, and/or retail sales operation
  • Verifiable experience in managing, supervising, and overseeing transportation operations (visitor shuttle and/or bus service)
  • Current CPR certification from a program consistent with, or provided by, the American Red Cross or American Heart Association (must be obtained prior to completion of Phase-In Period if not currently held)
  • Must maintain CPR certification (recertification required at least every two years)
  • U.S. citizen
  • Ability to pass High Risk background check conducted by BEP Personnel Security Branch
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand fluent English
  • Two (2) years' experience meeting the minimum qualifications for both Lead Tour Guide and Lead Retail Associate/Specialist positions

Desired:

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish (reading, writing, speaking and understanding)

Uniform Requirements:

Government-approved uniforms will be provided and must be worn during all duty hours:

  • Black, brown, gray or blue short or long sleeve button-down shirt
  • Pants or skirt in black or khaki (skirts must sit no more than 2 inches above the knee)
  • Contractor's logo may appear (no more than 3" x 3")
  • Brown or black socks
  • Brown or black loafers, flats or dress shoes
