Overview

FWI is building a team to provide clerical, administrative, and professional services as well as data management, documents preparation, records management support services and electronic records management for the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO). As a Records Management Specialist, you will support the full lifecycle of GAO's records from creation to disposal while providing training on records management best practices and assisting various departments with their recordkeeping compliance needs.

**Position is contingent upon contract award**

 

Work Schedule and Location:


On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday,8am to 5pm at the GAO Headquarters in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

  • Search, maintain, and retrieve organization's records
  • Implement policies and ensure compliance with legal requirements
  • Oversee the lifecycle of records from creation to disposal
  • Work with various departments to assess recordkeeping needs
  • Provide training on records management best practices
  • Assist in the implementation of electronic document management systems
  • Conduct and reconcile inventories of data and assets
  • Perform word processing and data entry relevant to case documentation
  • Enter and retrieve data from databases
  • Prepare and format management reports
  • Support digitization, transferring, computing, and printing information
  • Prepare and correct reports and correspondence
  • Maintain records of various types with attention to detail

 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Bachelor's degree in information or business discipline
  • Minimum 2 years of experience developing or maintaining records management programs in support of Government operations
  • Experience with drafting records management artifacts in accordance with National Archives and Records Administration (NARA)
  • Specialized experience including:
    • Editing, drafting, and writing file plans
    • Creating records inventories and records schedules
    • Performing analytical studies and projects related to records management improvement, productivity, and records management controls
  • Knowledge of records management standards
  • Ability to adapt to evolving technologies
  • Public Trust clearance
