Overview

FWI is building a team to provide clerical, administrative, and professional services as well as data management, documents preparation, records management support services and electronic records management for the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO). As a Senior Records and Information Management Specialist, you will lead large-scale records management initiatives including developing or updating records management systems at the enterprise level while overseeing efforts to ensure compliance with federal records requirements.

Work Schedule and Location:


On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday,8am to 5pm at the GAO Headquarters in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, staff, and oversee efforts to develop or update records management systems at the enterprise level
  • Perform all activities associated with records management function oversight including staffing, budgeting, schedule management, and monitoring
  • Lead agency-wide inventory and file plan development for GAO records
  • Ensure compliance with National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) policies and regulations
  • Collaborate with Records Management Staff on records appraisal and retention scheduling
  • Assist in developing digitization strategies and processes for compliance with M-19-21 and M-23-07
  • Support enterprise-wide information and records management training development
  • Manage records with varying degrees of sensitivity from National Security-classified to business-sensitive

 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Master's degree in information or business discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in managing records management support services
  • Certified Records Manager (CRM) designation is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of NARA policies, Federal Records Act, 44 U.S.C., 36 CFR, and General Records Schedule (GRS)
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite/SharePoint
  • Requires active Secret security clearance
