Overview

FWI is building a team to conduct formal audits and provide technical expertise on SES/SL allocation management, position management, and position classification for the Department of Justice. As a Senior Human Resources Classification Specialist, you will serve as the technical expert advising on complex classification matters, organizational design, and position management across DOJ components.

Work Schedule and Location:


On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm at the DOJ Justice Management Divison in Washington, DC. Hybrid/telework options may be available.

Responsibilities

 

  • Perform position classification work including analysis, evaluation, and maintaining classification programs
  • Advise managers on position descriptions and organizational design
  • Interpret and apply position classification/management standards to determine correct pay plans, occupational series, titles, and grades
  • Conduct on-site or telephonic audits and prepare written evaluation statements
  • Resolve complex and controversial classification problems including Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) assessments
  • Conduct special studies on major programs and operational issues

 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Minimum 5 years of highly technical experience in classification and position management
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal classification principles and concepts
  • Experience with automated personnel programs and regulatory compliance
