Overview

FWI is building a team to provide expert strategic communications support services to the Defense Health Agency Research & Development - Medical Research and Development Command (DHA R&D-MRDC). As a Command Information & Engagements Manager, you will provide leadership and coordination expertise in managing high-visibility visits, events, and engagements, supporting command communications for senior military, government, congressional personnel, and private-sector partners at the Fort Detrick facility.

Work Schedule and Location:


On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm at Fort Detrick in Frederick, MD.

Responsibilities

 

  • Organize and coordinate command visits, securing post locations and creating detailed agendas
  • Research relevant issues, conduct strategic analyses, and propose solutions to achieve objectives
  • Develop command taskers and serve as point of contact on the tasking system
  • Manage communication between customers and subject matter experts (SMEs)
  • Distribute official event correspondence including invitations, agendas, and registration forms
  • Coordinate meeting logistics including securing spaces, vendor scheduling, and on-site management
  • Conduct pre-visit preparation and day-of-event setup/breakdown
  • Develop talking points and presentation materials in collaboration with Public Affairs Office
  • Draft social media posts and short content for visits/engagements
  • Support conference and trade show activities
  • Maintain visit calendar and after-action reports
  • Generate original content based on DHA R&D-MRDC projects for social media channels
  • Serve as on-site supervisor for Strategic Communications contract staff
  • Support Protocol functions as needed

 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in managing communication campaigns, events and engagements
  • Experience developing content and managing communications between stakeholders
