Overview

Join our team as Scientific Writer and Editor and support our NOAA client by writing and editing scientific content, ensuring that all materials are accurate and up to date while supporting technology partnership and CRADA communications that highlight NOAA's innovative research. This role involves creating clear, accurate documentation that translates complex scientific research and technological innovations into accessible formats for diverse audiences, with particular emphasis on developing materials for Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADAs) and crafting compelling win stories that showcase successful collaborations. You will collaborate with researchers, engineers, and program managers to create win stories about CRADA partnership documentation that support NOAA's mission to advance weather forecasting and ocean monitoring technologies through public-private partnerships. The writer ensures that cutting-edge scientific developments, partnership opportunities, and achievement stories are effectively communicated to stakeholders, funding agencies, industry partners, and the public while maintaining scientific accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Work Schedule and Location:

Remote: This full-time remote position will work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Responsibilities

  • Supporting website and social media communication, including:
    • Working with customer stakeholders and SMEs to develop content
    • Developing themes, schedules, and content for various websites and social media platforms
  • Developing and uploading marketing content
  • Identifying and developing engaging stories
  • Supporting Director level customers to promote partnership alliances
  • Attending virtual meetings and seminars

Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
  • BA/BS in English, Journalism, or a scientific/environmental/technical discipline
  • At least 8 years of professional and/or academic experience (including internships)
  • Advanced degrees or certifications may qualify for shorter periods of experience
  • Ability to effectively translate complex scientific concepts into clear and widely understandable text

Pay Range (Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other relevant factors)
