Overview

FWI is building a team to manage day-to-day operations and maintenance of The Office of Foreign Missions Information System (TOMIS), including system administration and security compliance. As a Network and Computer System Administrator you will administer web-based application servers, lead the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) efforts, and ensure the security posture of TOMIS meets Department of State standards.

Work Schedule and Location:

 

On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

 

  • System administration of web-based application servers in OFM's Production environment (virtual servers hosted by IRM in the ESOC)
  • Provide administration for servers in Development and Test environments
  • Lead Assessment and Authorization (A&A) of TOMIS application using ArchAngel software
  • Maintain TOMIS Risk Assessment Score below iPost score of 40
  • Ensure security certificates for TOMIS application and OFM external sites are up-to-date
  • Initiate approved Purchase Orders for hardware or software purchases
  • Image and configure baseline development workstations for development team
  • Install and maintain latest approved Integrated Development Environment (IDE) version (Microsoft Visual Studio)
  • Oversee system administration of OFM Development Environment and all OFM servers
  • Ensure software and hardware in Test environment mirrors Production environment
  • Monitor and maintain security posture within Department guidelines including patching, virus updating, and system administration
  • Maintain documentation including Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA), System Security Plan (SSP), and IT Contingency Plan

 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Minimum of Associate Degree or related experience
  • Minimum of Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification or related experience
  • Minimum of Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification or related experience
  • Security+ and A+ certifications preferred
  • At least 4 years managing and administering complex and mixed network environments
  • Demonstrated experience and abilities administering network, Web and communication system, including LAN and WAN systems
  • Demonstrated experience administering, installing, managing, configuring, and maintaining network elements to include servers, workstations, hubs, switches, routers, and physical infrastructure and communications
  • Has experience administering user accounts, passwords, and emails; and reviewing and maintaining security policies in accordance with Government and industry guidelines and best practices
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining servers, creating monitoring reports and logs, and ensuring functionality of server links
  • Has a solid understanding of Microsoft Active Directory
  • Demonstrated the ability to work and perform in a virtual environment (virtual servers)
  • Demonstrated experience providing configuration management and documentation of network topologies
  • Demonstrated experience providing activity and progress reports regarding network performance
  • Demonstrated experience interfacing with vendor support service groups or providing internal analysis and support to ensure appropriate notification during outages or periods of degraded system performance
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Flexible, highly motivated, self-started who can handle multiple talks
  • Requires TS/SCI security clearance
