Systems Engineer Architect

Overview

FWI is building a team to manage day-to-day operations and maintenance of The Office of Foreign Missions Information System (TOMIS), including design and development of .NET MVC applications. As a Computer Systems Engineer Architect you will lead the architectural design of TOMIS software development, provide technical leadership for the Oracle to SQL Server migration, and ensure secure coding practices across the enterprise application suite.

Work Schedule and Location:

 

On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

 

  • Lead architectural design for TOMIS application development
  • Design and develop .NET MVC applications (currently using .NET framework version 8)
  • Provide technical leadership for migration from Oracle 19c to Microsoft SQL Server
  • Implement secure coding practices and database level encryption
  • Coordinate between development team, Product Owner, and key technical stakeholders
  • Ensure Section 508 compliance for all electronic and information technology services
  • Lead DevOps integration initiatives
  • Maintain software documentation including Software Design Documents (SDD) and System Requirement Specifications (SRS)

 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related field, or related experience
  • Formal training in .NET programming practices is preferred
  • 8-10 years of experience interpreting complex requirements; and designing, developing, and implementing applications systems and components using Microsoft Development Tools (.NET, MVC)
  • Experience in the architectural design of software development
  • Managed and led enterprise wide software development efforts
  • Demonstrated experience creating, modifying, maintaining, testing, and implementing complex software applications
  • Strong understanding of Object-oriented design (OOD)
  • Strong experience developing applications using the Agile methodology
  • Flexible, highly motivated, self-starter who is able to handle multiple projects
  • Requires TS/SCI security clearance
