Overview

FWI is building a team to provide employment assistance services for eligible members of North Carolina Reserve Components, their families, and designated representatives. As an Employment Counselor you will serve as a technical expert linking unemployed or underemployed eligible members with resources and employers to secure employment matching their skill sets.

**Position is contingent upon contract award**

 

Work Schedule and Location:


On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm in Raleigh, NC.

Responsibilities

  • Link unemployed or underemployed eligible members with resources to assist them in securing employment
  • Recruit employers to attend WFWNC Employment and Outreach Opportunities through various channels
  • Provide eligible member Career Assessments to identify additional job training requirements
  • Maintain and update designated database bi-weekly with minimum two (2) current job seeking opportunities per client
  • Collaborate with civilian employment opportunities through stakeholder agencies
  • Identify unemployed or underemployed Service members through employment surveys and refer 100% to partnering agencies/employers
  • Travel throughout NC quarterly to attend Regional Job Fairs

 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Bachelor's Degree OR five (5) years of demonstrated practical related experience in education, counseling, workforce programs, social services or recruiting
  • Demonstrated capability in program/project coordination applications
  • Strong organizational & communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Basic knowledge of standard office procedures and ability to interpret general direction
  • Ability to work as a team member, manage time and prioritize workload with little or no supervision
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to use various software programs to maintain database files and prepare reports

Desired:

  • Knowledge of Veterans employment initiatives
  • Experience in a military career field
