Overview

FWI is building a team to provide employment assistance services for eligible members of North Carolina Reserve Components, their families, and designated representatives. As a Work for Warriors NC Program Director, you will manage WFWNC Employment Counselors and develop strategic planning goals to support unemployed or underemployed members in achieving suitable and sustainable employment.

Work Schedule and Location:


On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm in Raleigh, NC.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain records depicting current and future strategic planning goals and objectives
  • Manage WFWNC Employment Counselors functioning as a liaison to each Employment Counselor
  • Create events that excite, educate, and energize staff towards involvement and support program synchronization
  • Coordinate with Yellow Ribbon Program Office, Family Programs Office, Survivor Outreach Services, Transition Assistance Advisor Office, Soldier Welfare, and Operational Support Offices
  • Ensure policy and training compliance 
  • Evaluate agency program performance against stated goals monthly by compiling, organizing, and analyzing data
  • Prepare and present monthly reports including key indicators/metrics and status of identified WFWNC Program goals
  • Make quarterly recommendations on WFWNC goals for short- and long-range planning
  • Prepare and submit BYR funding supporting documentation annually
  • Ensure WFWNC SOP remains consistent with NGB and State military regulations/policies
  • Establish, attend and facilitate various working groups to determine and implement best practices

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Bachelor's degree OR seven (7) years of demonstrated practical experience in employment assistance/counselor services and program coordination
  • Experience training team members on employment assistance/counselor services
  • Strong organizational & communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Basic knowledge of standard office procedures and ability to interpret general direction
  • Ability to work as a team member, manage time and prioritize workload with little or no supervision
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to use various software programs to maintain database files and prepare reports

 

Desired: 

  • Experience/knowledge necessary to applications that result in apprenticeship and journeyman cards
  • TRADOC experience
  • Knowledge of Veterans employment initiatives
  • Experience in a military career field
