Overview

FedWriters is building a team to provide IT Architecture & Engineering Support for USSTRATCOM/J61's Command, Control, Communications, and Computers (C4) IT engineering activities. As a Sr. Information Systems Engineer, you will create, sustain, modernize, and integrate Enterprise-wide Compute, Storage, and Backup solutions utilizing software-defined approaches in support of critical nuclear command and control, cyber, electromagnetic spectrum, and missile defense mission areas.

Work Schedule and Location:


On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday with flexible hours between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM at USSTRATCOM, Building 1000, Offutt AFB, NE.

Responsibilities

 

  • Create, sustain, modernize, and integrate Enterprise-wide Compute, Storage, and Backup solutions
  • Implement new techniques and software-defined approaches for Infrastructure and Platform as a Service (IaaS/PaaS) structures
  • Support development of the USSTRATCOM C4-IT Roadmap for lifecycle management
  • Develop market research, Business Case Analysis, and Analysis of Alternatives for emerging technologies
  • Assist in developing Independent Government Cost Estimates and Rough Order of Magnitude estimates
  • Review IT test plans to ensure testing addresses all requirements
  • Create and maintain supporting technical documentation
  • Support change management processes and technical review boards

 

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Senior-level specialized knowledge in Enterprise-wide Compute, Storage, and Backup solutions
  • Active intermediate or higher technical certification (CompTIA Server+, INCOSE ASEP, Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, SNIA Certified Storage Networking Expert, or similar)
  • Minimum eight (8) years' experience as an IT Systems Engineer
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience demonstrating written and oral communication skills
  • Minimum one (1) year experience with DoD cybersecurity policies or equivalent commercial experience
  • Experience with current tools and technology supporting data processing, storage, and backup systems
