Overview

FedWriters is building a team to develop and maintain best-in-class websites and web infrastructure for the Department of Transportation. As a Program Manager, you will lead strategic planning and governance while managing multiple work streams that support DOT's mission-critical external websites.

**This position is contingent upon contract award**

 

Work Schedule and Location:

On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

 

  • Lead strategic planning and CMS governance for DOT web initiatives
  • Manage multiple concurrent work streams and project teams
  • Oversee web platform operations and maintenance activities
  • Develop and maintain program documentation and reporting
  • Coordinate with DOT stakeholders and technical teams
  • Set program objectives and allocate resources effectively
  • Ensure compliance with federal web standards and policies
  • Direct program activities to meet schedule, cost, and quality goals
  • Provide oversight of risk management and quality assurance processes
  • Lead stakeholder communications and governance meetings

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience leading enterprise-level web development and infrastructure programs
  • Knowledge of federal web standards, Section 508 compliance, and WCAG 2.0 AA requirements
  • Strong understanding of CMS platforms, particularly Drupal
  • Proven ability to manage complex technical programs with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience with strategic planning and governance in federal IT environments
  • Understanding of IT security requirements and compliance frameworks
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
