At FedWriters, we're seeking an innovative Proposal Writer to join our mission of revolutionizing the proposal writing process with advanced AI technology. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of integrating cutting-edge AI solutions to streamline response processes for our clients. You'll work closely with our proposal development team (proposal managers + writers) to simplify complex tasks and create proposals that showcase FedWriters’ competitive advantages while still tapping into your core proposal writing expertise!

Work Schedule and Location:

Remote: This full-time remote position will work Monday through Friday. Person is ideally located in MST to EST time zones. Little-to-no (less than 5%) travel expected.

Responsibilities

As a Proposal Writer, you will leverage AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude.ai., Perplexity, etc.) to transform raw information into polished proposal responses. Essentially blending the elements of data processing, AI, and the creative aspects of proposal writing – with the goal of driving innovation and high-tech into our proposal process.

 

The Proposal Writer will be instrumental in transforming proposal writing through AI-powered technology. Your responsibilities will include analyzing requirements, researching documents, and developing FedWriters opportunity analyses – generating customized proposal drafts, and ensuring our tools effectively simplify the response process. This position requires a unique blend of core proposal management + writing expertise, technical acumen, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills.
 

Additionally, responsibilities include the ability to:

  • Analyze RFQs, RFPs, and RFIs to develop comprehensive proposal strategies and plans
  • Develop compelling win themes, value propositions, and differentiated solutions
  • Craft high-quality proposal content, including executive summaries, management sections, and technical narratives
  • Synthesize information from various sources into cohesive, persuasive proposals
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate technical concepts into clear, value-driven content
  • Manage action items and drive progress through effective communication with proposal and business development teams
  • Excel in improving organization, flow, and readability of proposals
  • Facilitate collaborative solution development sessions with multi-disciplinary teams

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5 to 7 years of Technical / Proposal Writing experience for U.S. Federal solicitations and/or business development efforts 
  • Demonstrates strong collaborative skills, fostering a positive team environment and contributing to collective success
  • Excels in prioritizing and managing multiple complex tasks simultaneously, ensuring high-quality output across all responsibilities
  • Exhibits exceptional critical thinking and initiative, independently identifying and resolving challenges to drive projects forward
  • Communicates complex ideas with clarity and precision, both verbally and in writing, to diverse stakeholders, including team members and clients
  • Consistently meets or exceeds project deadlines, demonstrating a strong commitment to timely delivery and client satisfaction
  • Proficiently juggles multiple projects, maintaining focus and quality while adapting to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Showcases adaptability in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment, quickly learning and applying new AI tools and methodologies
  • Possesses a keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy in proposal content and AI-generated outputs

Desired:

  • GenAI Business Development and/or Proposal Management + Writing-related certification (e.g., Shipley’s BD.ai Certification; Lohfeld Consulting’s Generative AI for Proposal Professionals course; DataCamp’s AI Fundamentals Certification, Certified Generative AI Specialist (CGAI), etc.)
  • APMP Certification preferred
