Overview

FedWriters is seeking a skilled and customer-focused IT Technician to provide exceptional technical support and system administration for our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in IT systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and a personable demeanor to assist our employees effectively. This role will involve managing help desk tickets, administering Microsoft 365 environments, and leveraging tools like Power Automate to improve efficiency.

Work Schedule and Location:

Hybrid: This full-time hybrid position will work Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 4:30, with [20% on-site] at the Fairfax office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tier-1 and tier-2 technical support to FedWriters employees, resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Manage and prioritize help desk tickets, ensuring timely resolution and documentation of solutions.
  • Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 environments, including user account management, licensing, and troubleshooting.
  • Leverage Power Automate to design and implement workflows that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Perform regular system maintenance, updates, and backups to ensure the integrity and security of IT systems.
  • Assist with onboarding new employees, including setting up workstations, configuring user accounts, and providing initial IT training.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of IT assets and track software licenses.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for IT improvements and implement solutions.
  • Respond to phone, email, and in-person support inquiries with a friendly and professional attitude.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, including SharePoint, Teams, and Exchange.
  • Familiarity with Power Automate and its application in streamlining business processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a personable and professional phone presence.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve IT issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with networking basics, including TCP/IP, DNS, and VPN.
  • Experience with endpoint management tools and practices.
  • A commitment to staying updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices.
  • Security+ Certification is preferred but not required.
