Overview

FedWriters is building a team to develop and monitor Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS) program's performance outputs and policy support services, to include updating current policies, initiating new policies to support national, state, and local veterans’ offices, or examining federal policies affecting execution of veterans’ programs and changing policies to include latest Congressional and Executive Order decisions. As an Editor/Technical Writer you will be a part of a team that is responsible for evaluating and analyzing program performance data, research and development of program policy and processes, and review and update of policy implementation in regional and field offices.

**This is a full time remote position; however the customer may ask for an occasional office visit.**

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for writing and editing materials for a variety of internal and external audiences and ensuring compliance with the Plain Writing Act of 2010 and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (29 U.S.C. § 794d), and federal web content accessibility guidelines

Qualifications

  • Ability to undergo and successfully pass a minimum background investigation (MBI) or a background investigation (BI) conducted through the U.S. Department of Labor
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience bringing the following into compliance with Section 508 of the
    Rehabilitation Act and other related accessibility requirements:
    • MS Word documents that include tables and images, Adobe PDFs, MS Excel workbooks, and MS PowerPoint slides

Pay Range (Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other relevant factors)
