Overview

Join our team as a Project Manager and support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration through the Global Systems Laboratory (GSL) by providing project management, coordination, and administration for planning, execution, and evaluation of GSL research projects.  You will developing GSL project plans, schedules, and budgets, and tracking project tasks, deliverables, and timelines,  to ensure NOAA GSL’s Operational Planning is in tight order. Work Schedule and Location:

Hybrid: This full-time hybrid position will work Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with 60% of work performed onsite at NOAA Boulder at 325 Broadway Boulder, CO 80305-3328.

Responsibilities

  • Providing project management, coordination, and administration for planning, execution, and evaluation of GSL research projects
  • Developing GSL project plans, schedules, and budgets, and tracking project tasks, deliverables, and timelines
  • Supporting, coordinating, and facilitating the development and preparation of transition plans
  • Supporting, coordinating, and facilitating development and execution of project briefings, project reports, spreadsheets, and systems to help document, track, analyze, report, and resolve project issues
  • Creating and maintaining GSL project entries in databases and tracking systems, such as the NOAA R&D Database (NRDD) and OAR Annual Operating Plan (AOP) as needed
  • Supporting, assisting, coordinating, and facilitating project reviews in coordination with project teams and stakeholders
  • Supporting GSL as a member of various committees, working groups, and task forces as needed
  • Providing project coordination and assistance to SME(s) in development of project plans, status reports, and transition plans
  • Coordinating with the PMO lead and Technology Partnerships Office (TPO) on matters related to project intellectual property, disclosure, evaluation, protection, commercialization, and marketing & licensing
  • Providing budgetary, meeting, and briefing support as needed for project planning, tracking, and reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in management/business or scientific/engineering/technical discipline
  • 5+ years of full-time professional experience overseeing complex projects
  • Advanced degrees or certifications may qualify for shorter periods of required experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired
  • Meteorological of related scientific experience desired
  • Familiarity with Smartsheets desired
  • Ability to translate to plain language desired
