This is a remote position that will not require the employee to relocate.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting user research through surveys, interviews, and usability testing to gather insights on user needs and behaviors
  • Analyzing and interpreting user feedback and analytics to inform design decisions
  • Creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
  • Developing high-fidelity prototypes to test and validate design concepts
  • Collaborating with graphic designers to ensure the visual design aligns with the overall user experience strategy
  • Planning, conducting, and analyzing usability testing sessions to gather user feedback and identify areas for improvement
  • Iterating on designs based on user feedback and testing results
  • Working closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure the user experience is integrated throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Presenting and defending design decisions and rationale to stakeholders
  • Ensuring designs comply with accessibility standards, including Section 508 and WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines)
  • Advocating for accessibility best practices within the organization
  • Staying updated on the latest UX trends, techniques, and technologies
  • Participating in UX communities and professional organizations to continuously improve skills and knowledge

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience Design, Cognitive Psychology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in user experience design, usability testing, and user research
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, InVision, and usability testing software.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience working in a government contracting environment is desired
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is desired
  • Certification in usability or user experience (e.g., CUA, CXA) is desired
  • Experience with human-centered design and behavioral insights is desired
